Some of the transformations we have been proud to be part of.
A day with Dr. K: seeing patients, answering questions and performing laparoscopic surgery.
Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller, and some procedures also change the path food takes through the intestine. You feel satisfied on far less food, and the hunger that undid past diets is usually much quieter.
Our surgical procedures are laparoscopic, done through a few small incisions with a camera. ESG and the gastric balloon are performed through the mouth, with no incisions on the abdomen.
For patients in Hialeah, the whole plan runs through one surgeon. Dr. K sees you at consultation, performs your procedure and leads your follow-up, so you are never handed off after surgery day.
Dr. K performs or oversees all seven options below, so your recommendation fits your health rather than a short menu.
| Option | How it works | Often a fit when |
|---|---|---|
| Gastric Sleeve | About three quarters of the stomach is removed laparoscopically. The narrow sleeve that remains fills quickly and produces less of the hormone behind hunger. | You have a significant amount of weight to lose and want one lasting procedure. An expedited path is available. |
| Low BMI Gastric Sleeve | Our "Mini Sleeve" applies the sleeve technique to patients with less weight to lose. | Your weight affects your health but falls below traditional surgical criteria. |
| Teen Gastric Sleeve | A sleeve gastrectomy planned for adolescents, with nutrition coaching and the family involved throughout. | A teenager's severe obesity has not improved with supervised programs. |
| Gastric Bypass | A small stomach pouch is connected directly to the small intestine, which limits both portion size and absorption. | You live with type 2 diabetes or severe reflux, or have a larger amount of weight to lose. |
| Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) | Sutures placed through an endoscope fold the stomach into a narrower tube, with no external incisions. | You want meaningful restriction without traditional surgery. |
| ORBERA Gastric Balloon | A soft balloon placed endoscopically takes up room in the stomach and is removed later. | You prefer a temporary, nonsurgical first step. |
| Medical Weight Loss | A physician-supervised plan that can combine GLP-1 injections, nutrition coaching and regular check-ins. | You are not ready for a procedure, or want support before or after one. |
Weight loss surgery is for adults, and in selected cases teens, whose weight is harming their health after diet, exercise or medication have not kept it off. Dr. K weighs your history and goals along with the scale, then tells you which options suit you.

We publish our gastric sleeve price so you can plan with a real number before your first visit.
When Dr. K performs your pre-op endoscopy, the procedure is part of the overall cost and a separate hospital fee applies. Gastric bypass, ESG, the balloon and medical weight loss are priced to your plan at your consultation.
Cherry financing is accepted for surgery, and debit or credit cards can cover any remaining balance. Review financing details.
Surgery and your first year of care in one price
That depends on how much your weight affects your health and what you have already tried. Surgery changes how much you can eat and how hungry you feel, which helps new habits last. Dr. K will tell you honestly whether surgery, a nonsurgical procedure or medical weight loss makes the most sense for you.
Approval is a medical decision made with Dr. K, not a single number on the scale. After your consultation you complete medical clearances, an upper endoscopy and a pre-surgery diet, and your surgery is scheduled once those are done.
Our gastric sleeve package is $14,000, with your hospital stay and first year of follow-up included. Other procedures are quoted at your consultation, and Cherry financing offers payments from $320 a month.
Neither is better for everyone. The sleeve removes most of the stomach and is the procedure Dr. K specializes in, while bypass also reroutes digestion and can suit patients with type 2 diabetes or severe reflux. Your health history decides which one Dr. K recommends.
Most of our patients return to work 4 to 7 days after their procedure. You should avoid lifting more than 20 pounds while you heal, so a physical job may need a longer break or lighter duties at first.
Yes. Weight loss injections need to be stopped at least 2 weeks before your procedure. Our team will tell you exactly when to stop as part of your preparation plan.
Yes. An upper endoscopy is required before surgery, and you can have it done with Dr. K or at another facility. An endoscopy completed within the last 5 months is accepted, and other required tests can also be done at our clinic or elsewhere.

Our office is in South Miami, a drive south from Hialeah on the Palmetto Expressway. Plan on visits here for your consultation and follow-up, while required tests can be done at an outside facility to save a trip. Read our guidance for travelling patients.
