One board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon, a short drive up US-1 from Dadeland, with a $14,000 gastric sleeve package that includes your first year of follow-up.

Every pair below is a patient of Dr. Keshavarzi, photographed before surgery and again after their weight loss.
Your result depends on the procedure, your starting point and the habits you build afterward. That is why gastric sleeve care continues with follow-up visits for a full year after surgery day.

What a before and after cannot fully show: the relief of feeling your body respond again.
Medication, surgery or both: matching the treatment to the patient is part of every plan we build.
Bariatric surgery reduces how much your stomach holds, or changes the route food takes, so you feel full on far smaller portions. Many patients also notice less hunger between meals.
Our surgical procedures are done laparoscopically through small incisions, and the endoscopic options work through the mouth with no incisions on the abdomen. The operation is the starting point. Lasting results come from the nutrition plan, the follow-up visits and the support that follow it.
Dr. Keshavarzi also oversees medical weight loss with GLP-1 medications, so his recommendation is not tied to one procedure. For some patients the right plan is medication, for others surgery, and for some a combination of both.
Patients from Kendall can move from a nonsurgical balloon all the way to gastric bypass without changing surgeons. Each option links to its own page with more detail.
| Procedure | How it works | Often considered by |
|---|---|---|
| Gastric Sleeve | Most of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a narrow sleeve that holds less food and signals less hunger. | Adults with significant weight to lose who want one lasting procedure. An expedited path is available. |
| Low BMI Gastric Sleeve | Our "Mini Sleeve" uses the sleeve technique for patients with less weight to lose. | People below standard surgical thresholds whose weight still affects their health. |
| Teen Gastric Sleeve | A sleeve gastrectomy planned for adolescents, with close family and nutrition support. | Teens with severe obesity that supervised programs have not resolved. |
| Gastric Bypass | A small stomach pouch is joined directly to the small intestine, limiting both intake and absorption. | Patients with severe reflux, type 2 diabetes or more weight to lose. |
| Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) | Sutures placed through an endoscope fold the stomach into a smaller shape, with no abdominal incisions. | Patients who want restriction without traditional surgery. |
| ORBERA Gastric Balloon | A soft balloon is placed in the stomach endoscopically, filled, and removed later. | Patients who want a temporary, nonsurgical start. |
| Medical Weight Loss | A physician-supervised plan that can include GLP-1 injections, nutrition coaching and regular check-ins. | Patients not ready for a procedure, or who want support before or after one. |
Bariatric surgery is for people whose weight affects their health, mobility or daily life and who have not kept weight off with diet, exercise or medication alone.

Yes. Many of our patients start with GLP-1 medication and later choose surgery for a longer-lasting result. Weight loss injections must be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgery, and Dr. K can also tell you when medication, surgery or both make the most sense.
Yes. Medical clearances and an upper endoscopy, or EGD, are required before surgery, and the tests can be done at our clinic or at an outside facility. An EGD from within the last 5 months is accepted. Dr. K can also perform the EGD himself, with the procedure included in your surgery cost apart from a hospital fee.
