One board-certified, fellowship-trained surgeon, a gastric sleeve package with a published price and a plan that keeps much of your pre-op testing close to Stuart, Palm City and Hobe Sound.

Each pair shows a patient who had weight loss surgery with Dr. Reza Keshavarzi and came back to us for follow-up care.
How much weight a patient loses depends on the procedure, their health at the start and the habits they keep afterward. Those habits are built during the first year of visits, so follow-up is part of the plan from day one.

Same smiles, same friendship, a different life after a gastric sleeve.
GLP-1 medication, surgery or both: how Dr. K matches the treatment to the patient.
Bariatric surgery reduces how much your stomach holds, or changes how food passes through it, so you feel full on small meals and hunger becomes easier to control.
The gastric sleeve removes most of the stomach, leaving a narrow tube. The gastric bypass forms a small pouch joined to a lower part of the intestine. Dr. K performs both laparoscopically, through several small incisions with a camera to guide him. ESG and the ORBERA gastric balloon are placed through the mouth with an endoscope and leave no incisions on the abdomen.
Many patients on the Treasure Coast reach us after trying GLP-1 injections. Because Dr. K runs our medical weight loss program as well as the operating room, his advice is not tied to a single answer: medication, a procedure or a plan that uses both.
Every option below is performed or supervised by Dr. K, so your recommendation comes from your health and goals rather than from the one operation a surgeon happens to offer.
| Option | What happens | Who usually asks about it |
|---|---|---|
| Gastric Sleeve | Most of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a slim sleeve that fills quickly. | Adults with a large amount of weight to lose who want one lasting operation. An expedited route is available for those ready to move. |
| Low BMI Mini Sleeve | A sleeve gastrectomy planned for patients carrying less excess weight. | People whose weight is affecting their health but who are below the usual surgical range. |
| Teen Gastric Sleeve | A gastric sleeve for adolescents aged 14 to 17, with nutrition coaching and support for the family. | Parents of teens with severe obesity after supervised diet and exercise have not been enough. |
| Gastric Bypass | A small stomach pouch is connected to the small intestine, limiting both portion size and absorption. | Patients with significant reflux, type 2 diabetes or more weight to lose. |
| ESG | Stitches placed through an endoscope fold the stomach into a smaller shape from the inside. | Patients who want a smaller stomach without incisions on the abdomen. |
| ORBERA Gastric Balloon | A soft balloon is passed through the mouth, filled to take up space in the stomach and removed later. | People looking for a temporary first step that involves no surgery. |
| Medical Weight Loss | Physician-led care that can include GLP-1 injections, nutrition coaching and regular check-ins. | Anyone not ready for a procedure, or who wants structure before or after one. |
Weight loss surgery deserves a serious look when your weight is affecting your health or your daily life and your past efforts have not held.
No single measurement makes the decision. Dr. K reviews your conditions, medications, history and goals, then tells you plainly which options suit you and which do not.

Board-certified bariatric surgeon and our lead surgeon, known to patients as Dr. K.
The surgeon you meet at your consultation is the surgeon who operates and the one who sees you at follow-up. When home is up the coast in Martin County, the care between visits matters as much as the visits themselves. Dr. K contacts his patients from his own cell phone, so questions during recovery reach him directly.
Dr. K practices the habits he asks of patients: staying active and eating well.
From Stuart, Jensen Beach, Palm City, Hobe Sound or Indiantown, the plan is built so the drive south happens only when it has to.
Dr. K reviews your health, history and goals, then recommends a procedure or a medical plan.
Required tests can be done at an outside facility, and an EGD from the last 5 months is accepted.
You follow a pre-surgery diet, and weight loss injections stop at least 2 weeks before.
Dates are often open within the same month once your clearances are complete.
You recover at home, with scheduled follow-up through your first year and our team a text away.

Our gastric sleeve has one published package price, so you can weigh the cost before you plan a single trip south.
If Dr. K performs your pre-op endoscopy, the procedure is included in the overall cost and a $750 hospital fee applies. Pricing for the gastric bypass, ESG, the gastric balloon and medical weight loss depends on your plan and is reviewed with you at your consultation.
Financing is available through Cherry, and any remaining balance can be paid by debit or credit card. Review our financing options.

Surgery plus your first year of care
No. Your surgery and follow-up visits are with Dr. K and our team, but many required tests and medical clearances can be done at a facility nearer Stuart or Palm City. An upper endoscopy done elsewhere in the last 5 months is accepted. We tell you early which steps need to happen with us.
It differs from patient to patient. Your starting weight, your health and how closely you follow the post-op diet all change the number. Weight usually comes off fastest in the first months, and Dr. K tracks your progress at each follow-up visit so your plan can be adjusted early.
Neither is better for everyone. Dr. K oversees our medical weight loss program and performs the gastric sleeve, so he can tell you which fits your health and history, or whether the two should be combined. If you choose surgery, weight loss injections need to stop at least 2 weeks before your operation.
That is a personal decision you make with Dr. K after looking at your health, your past attempts and your goals. Many of our patients write in their reviews that they wish they had done it sooner. Surgery works when it is paired with new eating habits and regular follow-up, which is why the first year of follow-up is part of our gastric sleeve package.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure. You should not lift more than 20 pounds while you heal. Desk jobs are usually easier to return to early than physical work, and Dr. K will tell you what fits your recovery.
Surgery dates are often available within the same month. The timing depends mostly on how fast your tests, clearances and endoscopy are completed. Patients ready to move quickly can ask about our expedited gastric sleeve.
