One fellowship-trained surgeon, Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, takes you from your first consultation to your one-year follow-up, with a gastric sleeve package that already includes your hospital stay and every follow-up visit.

These are Dr. K's own patients, many photographed with him at follow-up visits in our office. Results vary from person to person, and your consultation covers what is realistic for your body and health history.

BeforeAfterBariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller or changes how food moves through it, so you feel full sooner and hunger signals ease. Dr. K completed fellowship training in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery, and he performs every option below himself, from small-incision operations to incision-free endoscopic procedures.
| Procedure | How It Works | Often Considered For | Approach |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gastric Sleeve | Most of the stomach is removed, leaving a narrow sleeve that holds far less food and produces less of the main hunger hormone. | Adults with obesity who want one durable operation. | Laparoscopic |
| Low BMI Mini Sleeve | A sleeve gastrectomy planned for patients whose weight sits below the range traditional surgery calls for. | Adults with a lower BMI and weight that diet and medication have not moved. | Laparoscopic |
| Teen Gastric Sleeve | The same sleeve procedure, with care, coaching and follow-up shaped around adolescents and their families. | Teens aged 14 to 17 living with obesity. | Laparoscopic |
| Gastric Bypass | A small stomach pouch is created and connected further down the small intestine, limiting both intake and absorption. | Patients with severe acid reflux or type 2 diabetes. | Laparoscopic |
| Endoscopic Sleeve Gastroplasty (ESG) | Sutures placed through an endoscope fold the stomach into a smaller shape without any incisions. | Patients who want meaningful weight loss without surgery. | Endoscopic |
| ORBERA Gastric Balloon | A soft balloon placed through the mouth takes up room in the stomach for a set period, then is removed. | Patients who want a temporary, nonsurgical start. | Endoscopic |
Not ready for a procedure? Dr. K also oversees medical weight loss, with personalized plans built by our weight loss specialists, and many patients move between these options as their goals change.
Surgery is a medical decision built around your health, not a number on the scale alone. You may be a good fit if one or more of these describe you.
You have lost weight with diet, exercise or medication before, and it returned.
You live with conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea or joint pain.
The low BMI Mini Sleeve offers a surgical option when traditional surgery is not open to you.
Our teen gastric sleeve pairs surgery with coaching and close follow-up for the whole family.
Surgery can take over where medication stalled, or the two can work together.
You can follow a pre-surgery diet and keep a year of follow-up visits with our team.
GLP-1 injections and bariatric surgery are not rivals. Each does a different job well, and Dr. K offers both, so he can recommend whichever fits your body and goals rather than steering you to the only option he offers.
A nonsurgical way to lower appetite and improve blood sugar, often a strong start or a bridge to surgery.
For many patients it offers greater, longer-lasting weight loss and improvement in chronic conditions without lifelong injections.
Already on Ozempic or another weight loss injection? It has to be stopped at least 2 weeks before surgery, and Dr. K plans that transition with you.
Why the right treatment, or the right combination, matters more than choosing a side.

Patients call him Dr. K. He leads every consultation, performs your procedure and stays reachable afterward: he gives patients his personal cell number, and reviewers mention him checking in once they are home.
He completed his surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery at Jackson South Medical Center.
Dr. K practices what he recommends: staying active, eating well and keeping a healthy weight.
You meet the surgeon himself. He reviews your health history, weight loss attempts and goals, explains which procedures fit, and you leave with a clear plan and pricing for it.
You complete medical clearances and an upper endoscopy, at our clinic or an outside facility, then follow a pre-surgery diet. Our team supports you through each step, and scheduling moves as fast as your results come back.
Dr. K performs your operation and your hospital stay is part of the package. Our team stays in touch with you through the first days at home.
Most patients return to work within 4 to 7 days. Heavy lifting over 20 pounds waits until Dr. K clears you.
Follow-up appointments for the first year are included. Our team guides your diet stages, and diet plans are available to every patient.
Dr. K answers rapid-fire questions about surgery, combining treatments and life afterward.
When you compare quotes, check what each one includes. Our gastric sleeve price is a package, so hospital charges and a full year of follow-up care are already in the number you see.
Financing is available through Cherry, and debit and credit cards are accepted for any remaining balance. Pricing for bypass, ESG, the gastric balloon and other options is reviewed at your consultation, along with financing details.

It depends on your starting weight, how closely you follow the post-op diet and how active you are, so we do not promise a number. Dr. K sets a realistic range for you at your consultation. Your progress is then checked at follow-up visits throughout your first year, which are part of the surgery package.
Yes. GLP-1 and other weight loss injections must be stopped at least 2 weeks before your surgery date. Dr. K plans that timing with you so you are not left without support in the weeks before surgery.
Yes, an upper endoscopy (EGD) is part of every pre-op workup. An EGD done within the last 5 months is accepted, and you can have it elsewhere or with Dr. Keshavarzi. When he performs it, the procedure itself is included in your surgery cost and only the $750 hospital fee applies.
Your surgery date depends on how quickly your pre-op tests are completed. You can do them with us or at an outside facility, and our recommended doctor returns results within 48 hours. Once everything is in, surgery dates are often available within the same month.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure. You should not lift anything heavier than 20 pounds during early recovery, and Dr. K tells you when that limit is lifted.
Yes. Dr. K performs a teen gastric sleeve for adolescents aged 14 to 17. For adults whose BMI sits below the range traditional surgery calls for, he offers a low BMI Mini Sleeve.
