Pompano Beach patients get a board-certified bariatric surgeon, Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, and one $14,000 package that covers his fee, your hospital stay and a full year of follow-up.
BeforeAfterEach pair shows a gastric sleeve patient of Dr. Keshavarzi. Results vary with starting weight, health and the habits built after surgery.

A gastric sleeve, or sleeve gastrectomy, removes roughly three quarters of the stomach and leaves a narrow, banana-shaped tube. Dr. Keshavarzi performs it laparoscopically, through a few small incisions, guided by a camera.
The new stomach holds far less food, so you feel full on small portions.
The removed section makes most of the hunger hormone ghrelin, so appetite usually drops after surgery.
Your intestines stay as they are, which keeps digestion closer to normal than a bypass.
When a hiatal hernia is found, Dr. Keshavarzi can repair it during the same surgery.
The sleeve suits adults with obesity who have tried diets, exercise or medication without lasting results. It is also a strong option when weight is driving other health problems. Your consultation confirms whether it fits.

Dr. Keshavarzi, known to patients as Dr. K, is the lead surgeon at Miami VIP Surgery and focuses on gastric sleeve surgery and other weight loss options. He earned his medical degree with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, completed his surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and trained in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery during his fellowship at Jackson South Medical Center.
Patients have his personal cell phone number, so questions before and after surgery reach their surgeon directly.
Your surgery date depends on how quickly the required testing is finished.
He reviews your health, past weight loss attempts and goals, and explains cost and financing.
Medical clearances and an upper endoscopy, or EGD, are required, followed by a pre-surgery diet.
The operation uses small incisions, and your hospital stay is part of the package.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after surgery and avoid lifting over 20 lbs while healing.
Follow-up visits for the first year are covered, with diet plans to guide each eating stage.

It depends on your starting weight and how closely you follow the post-surgery diet, and weight usually comes off fastest in the first months. One of our patients reported being 60 lbs down four months after surgery, and another 70 lbs down at one year. Your own pace will differ.
Coverage for weight loss surgery differs from plan to plan, and we will talk through your options at your consultation. If your plan does not cover surgery, our package price and Cherry financing give you a clear path.
Long-term results depend on the habits you keep: protein-first meals, regular activity and checkups. Some patients regain weight over the years, and medical weight loss can help them get back on track. Patients who had their sleeve years ago still come to Dr. K for guidance.
