Every photo here is one of our own patients. Results differ from person to person and depend on the procedure, the diet stages and the habits built afterward.
Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller, and in some procedures changes the path food takes, so you feel full sooner and hunger signals shift. Dr. K trained in laparoscopic and robotic techniques, which use small incisions rather than one large one.
He does not offer one operation to everyone. Your weight, health history and goals decide which of these options fits.
Removes most of the stomach and leaves a narrow sleeve. It is Dr. K's main specialty and the procedure our $14,000 package covers.
Gastric sleeve detailsCreates a small stomach pouch and reroutes part of the small intestine. Often considered for patients with reflux or type 2 diabetes.
Gastric bypass detailsA sleeve planned for patients with a lower BMI whose weight still affects their health after diet, exercise or medication.
Mini Sleeve detailsA gastric sleeve program designed for adolescents ages 14 to 17 who are living with obesity.
Teen sleeve detailsESG stitches the stomach smaller from the inside with an endoscope, so there are no external incisions.
ESG detailsA temporary balloon placed by endoscopy takes up space in the stomach and helps with portion control.
Gastric balloon detailsPhysician-supervised plans, including weight loss injections, on their own or alongside a procedure.
Medical weight loss detailsCloser, ongoing access to Dr. K for patients who want hands-on guidance before and long after surgery.
Concierge detailsBariatric surgery treats obesity and the conditions that come with it. Dr. K weighs your full health picture at the consultation rather than a single number on a chart.
Taking weight loss injections? They are stopped at least two weeks before surgery, and Dr. K plans that change with you so you keep your progress.
GLP-1 medications can quiet appetite and start the weight coming off. Surgery such as the gastric sleeve or gastric bypass changes the stomach itself, which is why we consider it for lasting, long-term change.
For many patients the answer is not one or the other. Dr. K builds a plan around your health and goals and uses each tool when it does the most good.

Dr. Keshavarzi, known to patients as Dr. K, is a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a Fellow of both the American College of Surgeons and the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery. He completed his surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery at Jackson South Medical Center.
He earned his medical degree with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine after graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville, and he oversees our medical weight loss program.
Patients bring up one thing again and again: he gives them his personal cell phone number, and he answers it.

Medical clearances and an upper endoscopy are required. They can be done at our clinic or a facility nearer Palm Beach Gardens, and an endoscopy from the last five months is accepted.
A pre-surgery diet prepares your body for the operation. How soon you are scheduled depends on how quickly your testing is finished.
Dr. K performs your procedure. The package covers the hospital stay, the surgeon's fee and hospital-related fees.
Most patients return to work within 4 to 7 days and avoid lifting over 20 pounds while healing. First-year follow-up visits are included.

What Palm Beach Gardens patients ask most before their first visit.
Our office is in South Miami, and your consultation, surgery and follow-up are planned from there with Dr. K. The required medical clearances and upper endoscopy can be done at a facility closer to Palm Beach Gardens, and an endoscopy from the last five months is accepted. That keeps the drive for the visits that need your surgeon.
For many of our patients it is the step that finally held after years of diets, and some say in their reviews they wish they had done it sooner. It is still a lifelong commitment to new eating habits. Dr. K will tell you plainly whether surgery, medication or a combination fits you.
Coverage depends on your specific plan and its bariatric benefit, so ask your insurer what it requires before you start. If you pay directly, our published sleeve package and Cherry financing give you a clear number to plan around.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure and avoid lifting more than 20 pounds while they heal. Over the following weeks you move through the post-surgery diet stages with our team guiding each one.
That depends on your weight, health conditions, reflux history and goals. Dr. K performs the gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, Mini Sleeve, teen gastric sleeve, ESG and ORBERA balloon, and also oversees medical weight loss. Because the choice is not limited to one operation, the recommendation fits you rather than the other way around.
You will need to stop them at least two weeks before your surgery date. Dr. K plans that timing with you during preparation. Medication can have a place again later as part of a combined plan.
One conversation covers your options, your timeline and your cost, explained by the surgeon who would perform your procedure.
