Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller, so you feel full on far less food. Dr. K performs the sleeve and bypass laparoscopically through a few small incisions, and offers endoscopic options with no incisions at all.
Dr. K performs every option on this list himself. The right one depends on your weight, your health conditions and how much change you want.
The gastric sleeve removes most of the stomach and leaves a narrow sleeve, so smaller portions fill you up.
A low BMI gastric sleeve for patients with less excess weight that still affects their health.
The teen gastric sleeve is planned for adolescents aged 14 to 17.
A gastric bypass creates a small stomach pouch and reroutes part of the small intestine, limiting intake and absorption.
With ESG, sutures placed through an endoscope fold the stomach smaller from the inside.
A soft gastric balloon takes up space in the stomach for a set period, then is removed.
A personalized medical weight loss plan, which can include injections, for patients not ready for a procedure.
Dr. K decides candidacy with you after reviewing your full health history. Most patients see themselves in at least one of these.

Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, known to his patients as Dr. K, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon and a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
He earned his medical degree with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky, completed his surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery at Jackson South Medical Center. Dr. K holds every consultation himself.
Living in the Keys changes how often you make the drive, not the care you receive.
He reviews your health history, then explains which procedures fit and what each costs.
Medical clearances and an EGD are required. Tests can be done at a facility closer to Marathon, and an EGD from the last 5 months is accepted.
You follow a pre-surgery diet and stop any weight loss injections at least 2 weeks before.
Dr. K performs your procedure in the hospital. For the sleeve, the stay is part of the package.
Most patients return to work in 4 to 7 days and avoid lifting over 20 pounds while healing.
First-year follow-up comes with the sleeve, and our team answers questions by text between visits.
"From my 1st visit he made me feel at ease with my decision to pursue bariatric surgery. He has been there the whole process, provided his cell phone to make sure he could be reached at all hours."

Cherry offers 24 months at 0% interest, with payments as low as $320 a month. Cards are accepted for any remaining balance. See our financing options.
When Dr. K performs your EGD, it is included in your overall cost. A $750 hospital fee applies.
Our gastric sleeve package is $14,000 and covers your hospital stay, surgeon's fee, hospital-related fees and first-year follow-up. Other procedures are priced at your consultation, and Cherry financing is available.
No. Required tests can be done at our clinic or an outside facility, and an EGD from the last 5 months is accepted. Scheduling speed depends on how quickly your tests are completed.
A health condition that makes surgery unsafe, or not being ready to follow the eating plan, can rule surgery out for now. Dr. K decides with you, and an endoscopic option or medical weight loss may still fit.
It usually means no drinking for about 30 minutes before and after meals, so food stays in the smaller stomach and you stay full. Our diet plans spell out the timing.
The pace depends on your starting weight, the procedure and how closely you follow the eating plan. Weight comes off fastest in the first months, and Dr. K tracks it with you through the first year.
Leave your consultation knowing which procedure fits you and what it costs.
