Plan your surgery with a board-certified, fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon while completing many of your pre-op tests closer to home.

Every photo below is a patient who had weight loss surgery with Dr. Reza Keshavarzi and was followed by our team afterward.
The amount of weight a patient loses varies with the procedure chosen, their health going in and the routine they build after surgery. That routine is why follow-up visits through the first year are written into the plan rather than left optional.

Dr. K on choosing the right treatment, or the right combination, for each patient.
Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller or routes food around part of it, so small meals satisfy you and hunger is easier to manage.
A gastric sleeve removes most of the stomach, including the area that produces much of the hunger hormone ghrelin. A gastric bypass creates a small pouch connected further down the intestine. We perform both laparoscopically, through a few small incisions guided by a camera. ESG and the gastric balloon are done through the mouth with an endoscope, with no incisions on the abdomen.
For patients in Hendry County, surgery and follow-up care are with our team, while much of the preparation can be done nearer home. Many people come to us after GLP-1 injections. Dr. Keshavarzi runs our medical weight loss program too, so his advice on medication, a procedure or both is not tied to one answer.
Dr. K performs or supervises each option below, so the recommendation you get is based on your health rather than on the one procedure a surgeon offers.
| Option | How it works | Often considered for |
|---|---|---|
| Gastric Sleeve | About three quarters of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a narrow sleeve that fills quickly. | Adults with a large amount of weight to lose who want a single, lasting operation. An expedited path exists for patients ready to move fast. |
| Low BMI Mini Sleeve | A sleeve gastrectomy planned for patients carrying less excess weight. | People whose weight affects their health but who sit below the usual thresholds for surgery. |
| Teen Gastric Sleeve | A sleeve for adolescents, supported by nutrition coaching and help for the family. | Teens with severe obesity when supervised diet and exercise programs have not worked. |
| Gastric Bypass | A small stomach pouch is joined to the small intestine, limiting both how much you eat and how much is absorbed. | Patients with significant reflux, type 2 diabetes or more weight to lose. |
| ESG | Sutures placed through an endoscope fold the stomach into a smaller shape from the inside. | Patients who want a smaller stomach without abdominal incisions. |
| ORBERA Gastric Balloon | A soft balloon is placed through the mouth, filled to take up room in the stomach and removed later. | Those looking for a short-term first step without surgery. |
| Medical Weight Loss | Physician-guided care built around GLP-1 injections where appropriate, nutrition coaching and scheduled check-ins. | Anyone not yet ready for a procedure, or wanting structure around one. |
Surgery is worth a conversation when your weight is affecting your health or your daily life, and serious attempts to lose it have not lasted.
No single number decides it. Dr. K weighs your medical conditions, medications, past efforts and goals, and then tells you directly which options make sense for you and which do not.

Board-certified bariatric surgeon and our lead surgeon, called Dr. K by his patients.
Dr. K meets you at your consultation, performs your procedure and leads your follow-up care. For patients who live a long drive from our office, what matters most happens between visits: he contacts patients from his own cell phone, and reviews describe him checking in once they are home.
Dr. K lives the habits he recommends: staying active, eating well and keeping weight off.
Whether you live in LaBelle, Clewiston or elsewhere in the county, each step is arranged so you make as few trips as possible.
Dr. K reviews your health, past attempts and goals, then recommends a procedure or a medical plan.
Required tests can be done at an outside facility, and an EGD from the last 5 months counts.
You start a pre-surgery diet, and weight loss injections stop at least 2 weeks before.
Dates are often available within the same month once your clearances are in.
Most patients return to work in 4 to 7 days, with follow-up through the first year.

The gastric sleeve is offered as one package with a published price, so you know the main number before you plan the trip.
When Dr. K performs your pre-op endoscopy, the procedure itself is part of the overall cost and a $750 hospital fee is added. Gastric bypass, ESG, the gastric balloon and medical weight loss are priced to your plan and reviewed at your consultation.
Financing is available through Cherry, and the remaining balance can be paid by debit or credit card. See our financing details.

Your surgery and a full year of care
No. Your surgery and follow-up care are with Dr. K and our team, but many of the required tests and medical clearances can be done at a facility closer to home. An upper endoscopy done elsewhere within the last 5 months is accepted, which can save a trip. Our team tells you which steps need to happen with us and which do not.
Surgery dates are often available within the same month. How fast you reach the operating room depends mostly on how quickly your clearances and endoscopy are completed. Patients who are ready to move can ask about our expedited gastric sleeve.
That depends on your health, your history with diets and medication, and how much weight you want to lose. Dr. K performs gastric sleeve, gastric bypass, ESG and the ORBERA gastric balloon and oversees medical weight loss, so he can compare them for you without steering you toward one. Patients with less weight to lose can ask about the Mini Sleeve.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure. You should not lift more than 20 pounds while you heal. Your diet advances in stages over the first weeks, and our team watches your progress at each follow-up.
Weight loss injections need to stop at least 2 weeks before surgery. Because Dr. K also manages medical weight loss, he can map out the switch from injections to a procedure, or explain when staying on medication is the better call.
Yes. Financing is available through Cherry, with options that include 0% interest for 24 months and monthly payments as low as $320. Debit and credit cards are accepted for the remaining balance.
Our team keeps in contact by phone and text between visits, which matters when you are recovering at home in Hendry County. Dr. K reaches patients from his own cell phone, and many reviews mention him checking in after surgery.
