Start with a virtual consultation with Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, then have surgery at our South Miami practice with a full year of follow-up built into one package price.
BeforeAfterEvery pair below is one of Dr. Keshavarzi's own patients. Results differ from person to person and depend on the procedure, the eating plan and the follow-up that comes after it.
Gastric sleeve, 1 of 6
Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller or changes how food moves through it. You feel full on far less food, hunger often drops, and weight comes off steadily in the months after surgery. It treats obesity and the conditions that come with it, such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and sleep apnea.
Our surgical practice is in South Miami. Patients from Horizon West, Windermere and the rest of West Orange County handle most of the planning from home, then make one trip down Florida's Turnpike for surgery.
Dr. K offers surgical and nonsurgical options under one roof. Your plan is built around your health history and goals, not around a single procedure.
Dr. Keshavarzi performs or oversees every option below himself. At your consultation he explains which ones fit your goals, your BMI and your medical history.
Removes most of the stomach and leaves a narrow sleeve, so you feel full sooner. This is Dr. K's specialty and the procedure our package price covers.
About the gastric sleeveA sleeve gastrectomy for patients whose BMI sits below what traditional bariatric surgery calls for, yet whose weight still affects their health.
About the Mini SleeveCreates a small stomach pouch and reroutes part of the small intestine, which limits both how much you eat and how much you absorb.
About gastric bypassESG reshapes the stomach from the inside with an endoscope and sutures, with no external incisions.
About ESGA temporary balloon placed in the stomach by endoscopy that helps you feel full sooner while you build new habits.
About the gastric balloonGastric sleeve surgery for adolescents, planned together with the teen and their family.
About teen surgeryDoctor-supervised plans, including weight loss injections, for patients not ready for surgery or who want support around it.
About medical weight lossSurgery suits adults and teens whose weight is affecting their health and who are ready for a long-term change. You may be a good fit if any of these sound familiar.
Not every patient starts with surgery. Your consultation covers nonsurgical routes too, and some patients combine GLP-1 medication, surgery and lifestyle support over time.
Most of the work happens from home. You travel once for surgery and stay in touch with Dr. K for the year that follows.
You speak with Dr. Keshavarzi himself about your history, your goals and the procedure that fits. You leave knowing your options, the package price and your financing choices.
Medical clearances and an upper endoscopy are required before surgery. You can complete them at a facility near Horizon West or with us.
You follow a pre-surgery diet that readies your body for the operation. Our team supports you through every step of preparation and answers questions as they come up.
Dr. K performs your procedure. On the gastric sleeve package, your hospital stay and hospital-related fees are already covered.
Most patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure. Avoid lifting more than 20 pounds while you heal, and follow the staged diet plan from our team.
Follow-up appointments for the first year are part of the package. Dr. K also stays reachable on his personal cell phone, so questions between visits reach him directly.

Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, known to his patients as Dr. K, is a board-certified bariatric surgeon and our lead surgeon. He completed his surgical residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital and a fellowship in laparoscopic, bariatric and robotic surgery at Jackson South Medical Center.
He earned his medical degree with High Distinction from the University of Kentucky College of Medicine after graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Louisville. He runs every consultation himself.
You see the price before you plan the trip. Gastric sleeve surgery with Dr. K is quoted as one package, and other procedures are priced at your consultation.

We accept Cherry financing for surgery, and debit or credit cards for any remaining balance. Review financing details.
Endoscopy and labs. If Dr. K performs your endoscopy, the procedure itself is included in your surgery cost and a $750 hospital fee applies. Exams and lab analyses through our recommended doctor are $250 each, with results back within 48 hours. Insurance coverage depends on your plan, so bring your plan details to your consultation.

Yes. Surgery takes place in South Miami, about 230 miles from Horizon West by Florida's Turnpike. Your first conversation with Dr. K can happen by phone, so you only make the trip once you have a plan and a date.
Surgery dates are often available within the current month. How quickly you get a date depends on how fast your medical clearances and endoscopy are completed, and an endoscopy done within the last five months is accepted.
For many patients with obesity and related conditions, surgery is the most durable route to lasting weight loss once diet and medication have not held. Whether it is right for you depends on your health, your goals and your readiness for new eating habits. That is exactly what your consultation with Dr. K is meant to settle.
Coverage depends on your specific plan and its requirements for weight loss surgery. Bring your plan details to your consultation and our team will review them alongside our package pricing and financing options.
Gastric bypass usually means a slightly longer stay than a gastric sleeve because it is a more involved operation. Endoscopic options such as ESG and the ORBERA balloon are typically outpatient or short-stay procedures. Dr. K reviews the expected stay for your procedure so you can plan the trip home to Horizon West.
Weight loss injections must be stopped at least two weeks before surgery. Dr. K plans that timing with you, and medical weight loss can remain part of your long-term plan after you heal.
Begin from Horizon West with a virtual consultation and leave with a clear plan, a package price and your financing options.
