Bariatric surgery makes the stomach smaller or changes how food passes through it, so you feel full on far smaller portions. Dr. K performs six procedures and matches one to your health, your weight history and your goals.
Most of the stomach is removed laparoscopically, leaving a narrow sleeve that limits portions and reduces hunger for many patients.
Gastric sleeveDr. K's "Mini Sleeve" for patients whose BMI sits below the range many surgical programs accept.
Low BMI sleeveGastric sleeve surgery for adolescents ages 14 to 17 whose weight is affecting their health.
Teen sleeveA small stomach pouch is created and connected further down the small intestine, limiting both portions and absorption.
Gastric bypassESG narrows the stomach with sutures placed through the mouth, so there are no incisions on the abdomen.
ESGA balloon placed in the stomach endoscopically for a set period, helping you eat less while you build new habits.
Gastric balloonSurgery suits adults who have tried to lose weight and keep it off without lasting results, especially when weight drives conditions such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea or joint pain.

Lauderhill is a straight drive down I-95 or Florida's Turnpike from our South Miami office, and several steps can happen closer to home.
Dr. K reviews your health history, past weight loss attempts and goals, then recommends the procedure that fits. You leave knowing your options, the cost and the next steps.
Every patient needs medical clearances and an upper endoscopy (EGD). You can have them done at our clinic or at a facility nearer Lauderhill, and our recommended doctor returns results within 48 hours.
A pre-surgery diet prepares your body for the operation. Our team supports you through this phase and the diet plans that follow surgery.
Surgery dates open within the current month, and how soon yours is depends on completing your tests.
Most patients return to work in 4 to 7 days and avoid lifting more than 20 lbs while healing. Follow-up visits for the first year come with your package.

Our gastric sleeve package is $14,000, with no separate bills for the pieces below. Pricing for the other procedures is set at your consultation.
Financing through Cherry spreads the cost over up to 24 months at 0% interest, subject to approval.

Rapid-fire questions with Dr. K.
No. Surgery and your key visits take place with Dr. K, but the required medical clearances and upper endoscopy (EGD) can be done at a facility closer to Lauderhill. An EGD performed within the last 5 months is accepted, so a recent one may already count.
For patients whose weight has not responded to diet, exercise or medication, surgery changes hunger and portion size in a way that dieting alone rarely does. It can also improve weight-related conditions such as type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure. Dr. K will tell you plainly at your consultation whether surgery is the right step for you.
Injections must be stopped at least two weeks before surgery. Many patients come to us after trying injections, and Dr. K can help you decide whether surgery, medication or a combination fits your goals.
Yes. Injections help many people, but they work only while you keep taking them, and some patients do not reach their goal on medication alone. Because we offer both medical weight loss and surgery, the recommendation you get is based on your health rather than on a single treatment.
