Questions

FAQ About Medical Weight Loss in Davie, FL

What is physician-supervised weight loss?

It is a weight loss program run by a doctor rather than a diet company. Here that doctor is Dr. K, a board-certified bariatric surgeon who reviews your health, prescribes when appropriate and adjusts the plan as you progress.

Is weight loss surgery worth it compared with medication?

It depends on your health, your BMI and how your body responds to medication. GLP-1 medication works well for many patients while they take it, and surgery is the more durable option for others. Because Dr. K offers both, he can compare them for your situation.

What if my BMI is only 25 to 30?

Medication and nutrition are often the first step in that range. Dr. K also offers a low BMI Mini Sleeve for patients with a BMI of 25 to 30 who want a procedural option.

Do I need to stop weight loss injections before surgery?

Yes. If you later choose surgery, injections must be stopped at least two weeks beforehand. Dr. K times that change with you.
