Your sleeve is performed by Dr. Reza Keshavarzi, a fellowship-trained bariatric surgeon, under one $14,000 package that covers the hospital, his fee and your first year of follow-up care.

Every pair below is a gastric sleeve patient of Dr. Keshavarzi, photographed before surgery and again after their weight loss. Each body responds at its own pace, and your consultation sets expectations for yours.

Individual results vary. Photos shared with patient permission.
A gastric sleeve, or sleeve gastrectomy, removes most of the stomach and leaves a narrow, banana-shaped tube. The smaller stomach holds far less food, and removing the upper curve also lowers the hunger hormone made there, so patients feel full sooner and think about food less.
Dr. K performs the sleeve laparoscopically, through a few small incisions and a camera, rather than one open cut. The intestines are not rerouted and no band or balloon is left inside, which is why many patients choose it as their first weight loss surgery. Before surgery we confirm your stomach is healthy with an upper endoscopy (EGD), and when Dr. K performs that scope himself it is included in your surgery cost.
A sleeve suits adults whose weight is affecting their health and who have not kept weight off with diet, exercise or medication alone. Dr. K decides candidacy with you after reviewing your history, labs and EGD.
Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, joint pain or reflux that is tied to your weight and is getting harder to manage.
You have lost weight before and regained it. The sleeve changes how much you can eat and how hungry you feel, which a diet cannot do.
You are prepared to follow the pre-op diet, the staged post-op diet and a year of follow-up visits that help the result last.
Dr. K offers every major weight loss option, from surgery to medication, so your consultation compares them honestly rather than steering you to one surgery.
Many patients ask whether weekly injections can replace surgery. We prescribe both, and for some patients the answer is a combination. Here is how the two approaches differ.
| Gastric sleeve | GLP-1 medication | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Removes most of the stomach, shrinking its capacity and the hunger hormone it produces | Weekly injection that slows digestion and curbs appetite while you take it |
| Commitment | One laparoscopic procedure, then lifelong eating habits | Ongoing prescription; appetite can return when it stops |
| Recovery | Most patients back at work in 4 to 7 days | No surgical recovery |
| Best suited to | Patients seeking a durable, long-term change in weight and health | Patients starting out, or bridging toward surgery |

We price the gastric sleeve as one package, so you know the number before you commit. It covers the surgery, the hospital and a full year of follow-up visits with Dr. K.
If your EGD is done by Dr. K, the scope itself is included in the package and only the $750 hospital fee applies. You can also bring an EGD from another facility performed within the last 5 months.

Financing through Cherry: 24 months at 0% interest, with monthly payments as low as $320. Debit and credit cards are accepted for the remaining balance.
Most of our patients return to work 4 to 7 days after the procedure. Heavy lifting is off limits early on, with nothing over 20 lbs until Dr. K clears you. Your diet moves through stages over the following weeks, and your first year of follow-up visits is part of the package.
Yes. An EGD (upper endoscopy) is required before surgery, and one performed within the last 5 months is accepted. You can have it done elsewhere or with Dr. Keshavarzi. When Dr. K performs it, the procedure is included in your surgery cost and only the $750 hospital fee applies.
Weight loss injections must be stopped at least 2 weeks before your surgery date. Dr. K will plan the timing with you, so the switch from medication to surgery does not leave a gap in your progress.
Scheduling speed depends on how quickly your required tests and medical clearances are completed. Lab work through our recommended doctor returns results within 48 hours, and surgery dates are often available within the current month once everything is in.
