Instead, Dr. Keshavarzi, MD, FACS, a bariatric fellowship trained surgeon and the founder and lead surgeon of Miami VIP Surgery, LLC has developed Easy-Step Sleeve Program™ (ESSP) to address this common problem.

If you’d like more information about our practice or are interested in scheduling a consultation appointment with Dr. Keshavarzi to see if you qualify for a sleeve gastrectomy, contact us today.
A sleeve gastrectomy is a surgical procedure, during which the outer margin of the stomach is removed to limit food intake, leaving behind only a small sleeve of the stomach. This gastric sleeve is roughly the size of the banana. Sleeve gastrectomies are performed with the overall goal of allowing patients to lose weight and improving the condition of the medical problems that come with obesity, including diabetes, high blood pressure, and hypertension.
Sleeve gastrectomies help patients lose weight in two key ways: by decreasing the overall size of the stomach and removing the portion of the stomach that releases hormones responsible for feelings of hunger.
During a sleeve gastrectomy, most of the stomach is permanently removed, leaving behind only a gastric sleeve that is roughly the size of a banana. This includes the upper portion of the stomach that releases hormones that stimulate feelings of hunger. The entire surgical procedure typically takes between one and two hours to complete and is performed with the daVinci® surgical robot. Because the overall size of the stomach is significantly decreased, patients are able to feel full after consuming fewer calories.
For young and healthy patients who have no major health issues, we guarantee three weeks from consultation to surgery.
Call our office or send us a consultation request and we will schedule your consultation. Once determined you are a good candidate for surgery, our office staff will arrange all your appointments including any necessary X-Rays, blood work, consultations and of course — the surgery.

Dr. Keshavarzi has changed my life. I had sleeve gastrectomy surgery five months ago. Today, for the first time in I don't know how long, I have a "normal" BMI. I had been obese for so long I couldn't imagine this was truly possible - honestly my expectations were that I would just be less fat, and hopefully more healthy. I am now a normal weight, definitely more healthy, more active and overwhelmingly happy I had this done. I was self-pay, and Dr. Keshavarzi and his office made that part simple and transparent. He is not the cheapest in South Florida - but you have to ask yourself why/how some of those other doctors are so cheap. They certainly don't deliver the service and care of Dr. Keshavarzi, who has followed up and treated my successes with enthusiasm and support. I wholeheartedly recommend.
I met with Dr. Keshavarzi back in March and from my 1st visit he made me feel at ease with my decision to pursue bariatric surgery. I am just over 1 week post op from a hiatal hernia repair and gastric sleeve surgery and my surgery went better than great. I feel better than I did before and I haven’t even had to take anything for pain or nausea. He has been there the the whole process, provided his cell phone to make sure he could be reached at all hours, and has been the best doctor I could’ve asked for. Thank you Dr. K!
In May of 2019, I walked into Dr. Keshavarzi's office for my consultation... I had no clue what to expect. From the moment I met him, I knew I was in *AMAZING* hands - I was destined to have him perform my sleeve. Therefore, I didn't feel the need to find a second opinion. When the big day arrived (July 2019), he held my hand and said, "We are a team. This is a fifty-fifty effort from both of us. I am going to do my part inside the OR. I need you to do yours." Almost five months have passed and my team partner has never left my side. He has encouraged me, motivated me, and supported me throughout this whole journey. Beyond a shadow of a doubt, I know he will continue to doing so. If I find myself lost or confused, I know Dr. K is only a text or phone call away. He is truly an incredible surgeon and has a heart of gold. I am incredibly lucky to have him as my doctor, teammate, and friend.
Best decisión ever to have had my sleeve with Dr. Keshavarzi, great and caring doctor, great team and most important he is always available for his patients at any day or time, he walks you through every step after surgery and make you feel taken care and safe. Highly recomended!! Thank you Dr. Reza.

So I survived my preop liquid diet. The first 3 days were awful was so hungry. But did not cheat. Lost 16lbs now 224. My highest weight in January was 242. Everyone at work kept asking me today if I was nervous. No. I set my goal and this is the next step. I did by a protein powder I hated threw the whole 5lb tub in the trash. Lesson learned stay with what I like. Fingers crossed????

So it’s almost 2 months and today I hit 199. Starting weight 242. So excited. I did loose my husband 2 weeks ago to cancer. But I promised him and myself that I would get healthy. I walk my 2 dogs daily for exercise wish I was motivated to do more, but issue is low back pain. One of my motivations to get surgery but 42 lbs down pain is same.

Getting married in February and would love to be able to look good in bikini for the honeymoon. Posted pic of heaviest weight and current. Good luck
Amazing! I am so happy and my life has changed in so many great ways. I have tried so many diet and exercise programs and wasn’t able to loose the weight and now it is just melting off. Dr. Keshavarzi and his staff were wonderful and so supportive through the entire process. I was able to get it done so quickly. I think it was like 2 and a half weeks! I don’t regret it all and would do it all over again!
